DJ Shadow 2012 Tour to Stop at Brooklyn Bowl

first_imgArya JhaDJ Shadow is set to perform a DJ Set at the Brooklyn Bowl on Tuesday December 11, 2012, in promotion of his latest album, The Less You Know, The Better. DJ Shadow’s 2012 tour, “All Basses Covered”, began on October 4, 2012 in Burlington, Vermont and thus far 17 dates have been announced, with only 3 performances within the United States. The trip-hop artist’s latest album (released September 27, 2012) is only his fourth studio album, although he has been successfully touring as one of the founding fathers of Trip Hop since 1991.DJ Shadow last performed in New York City inside of his notorious Shadowsphere at Irving Plaza on 11/15/2011 and The Brooklyn Bowl 11/16/2011. He stated at these shows how deeply grateful he was for his fans who continued to follow him despite his change in musical styling throughout the years, so the “All Basses Covered” tour will be sure to be innovative, and sound like nothing you’ve ever heard from the producer before. Shadow is well known to create creative visual stimulations along with his vastly diverse audio set up, and although there is no 360 degree moving sphere this time, this tour is not to be missed. Wolfgang Gartner Unleashes on Martin Solveig

first_imgmoral of the story: YOU DON’T HAVE TO PLAY THE HITS TO GET THE MONEY AND PLEASE THE CROWD. try harder, dig deeper, and believe what u push— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 and it ain’t no local or opener either.:/ — Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 alright this is why i quit being on twitter all the time.i’m way too honest. i think vacation starts now. peace. thanks again el paso.— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 Late Saturday night Martin Solveig was the straw that broke Wolfgang Gartner’s back. Unleashing feelings that have clearly been building up for a long time Gartner publicly called out Solveig via Twitter for his crowd pleasing style. Both Gartner and Solveig were featured headliners at the Neon Dance Music Festival in El Paso Texas where they preformed consecutively on the dance stage. After playing his set Gartner stuck around to listen to Solveig at which point he immediately began his slew of outraged tweets.Essentially accusing Solveig of being too lazy to dig deeper and play tracks not on the Beatport top 10, Gartner attacked not only Solveig but any DJ who plays the most popular tracks of the moment, or the cheese as I so often hear it called. So basically in his goal to express his frustration over DJ’s taking what he sees as the easy way out Gartner has called out over half of the major names in the industry. Gartner declined to respond to any of Solveig’s answering tweets, and has so far kept to his promise that he will be taking a break from the world of Twitter.damn somebody’s playing straight up Beatport top 10 hits marathon on the dance stage right now. sometimes this industry confuses me.— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 whenever i’m done making enemies with 90% of the DJ community I will disappear from twitter for another week as suggested by my advisors. — Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 n u know what?i play the same gigs, get the same money, same slots, and i dont play any of those tracks (ok i played Reload b4 it was out)— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 not that surprising.this is what half my “friends” / DJs do at festivals anyway just to appease the crowd. this is why I play Wu Tang— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 fucking DIG, lazy ass fucks.then do a re-edit.then mash it up.and don’t play anything in the BP top 10, cuz errybody else is. BASIC. — Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 ok let’s count.so far:”Years,” “Clarity,” “Easy,” but i’ve only been listening 20 minutes. — Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 I want to start a count of how many times “high profile” djs play the same tracks in their sets at festivals.what’s the fuckin point?— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 26, 2013 Wolfgang Gartner will be taking a hiatus from twitter until early June. We’ll update you on any important news. -Wolfgang Management.— Wolfgang Gartner (@wolfganggartner) May 27, 2013Martin Solveig’s Response:last_img read more
