Individuals interested in supporting the MHTF’s work in this next phase should apply online through Harvard ASPIRE. The Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation will assist in establishing the MHTF at Harvard School of Public Health and engaging participation of HSPH stakeholders; identify the critical areas and gaps in the maternal health field in consultation with the Technical Advisory Group, members of the Task Force, the PI and the project deputy directors. This periodic exercise will provide the basis for the development and implementation of the research agenda; and assist in managing communications and relationships with the Gates Foundation, MHTFmembers/participants, other donors and stakeholders, and the media in all matters related to the MHTF research agenda. The Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, in close and constant dialogue with the P.I. and relevant partners, will have overall responsibility for developing and overseeing the research strategy, directing research-related work plans and activities, and achieving the implementation research agenda’s indicators and milestones. With regards to the research agenda, s/he will identify critical issues and collaborators for all projects; stimulate innovative thinking, approaches, and ways to translate new evidence into action; establish and implement tracking systems and compile data on project indicators for reports; assist individual project investigators in the development and implementation of all project-related activities; obtain project approval from institutional review boards at Harvard and in-country; lead and support development of scientific papers and reports for publication in peer reviewed journals and other dissemination tools; manage the Technical Advisory Group; staff the external evaluation that the BMGF will commission at the end of the first year of the MHTF project; and monitor and evaluate the MHTF project activities in close collaboration with the PI, directors and staff of the project.last_img read more
